[Climate Wire, sub. req’d] …A paper released today in the journal Nature Communications finds that forests in the United States and Canada have already hit about 78 percent of their carbon-sequestering capacity…

The study indicates that under the best of circumstances — that is, if forests continue to grow completely undisturbed into the future — they’ll only store about 22 percent more carbon over the next 60 years or so…
