[Politico’s Morning Energy] The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative has resulted in an estimated $5.7 billion in health savings and other benefits for participating states, according to a new independent study out today. The nine-state effort to curb carbon emissions has prevented 300-830 adult deaths, avoided 13,000 – 16,000 respiratory illnesses and staved off 39,000 – 47,000 lost work days for workers, according to the study.
