[From an E&E News PM article by Christa Mitchell, sub. req’d] The Energy Department’s key energy efficiency program for local communities saved billions of dollars on consumer energy bills and created thousands of jobs, according to a national evaluation of the program overseen by Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Participants in DOE’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program…received about $1.76 in bill savings from installed efficiency measures for every dollar spent, the evaluation found.
