This is an alternative to Google Scholar, folks. There seems to be far more policy-related than methodological content. And quantity of materials is miniscule compared to GS (you are more likely to find something on “cap and dividend” in GS than in Policy Archive).
But the difference is in its relational database information structure. Unlike GS, papers are manually indexed by subject, title, author, institution, etc. So searches can be made far more precise. And you can combine, say subject and institution. This might be best for getting a reasonable number of results for a search on a major topic. Policy Archive may become more helpful for RFFers as their content expands. But it’s good for GS to have some competition. They have offered almost no improvements in the 3 1/2 years they’ve been around. (Resourceshelf)
